Behind each handcrafted Aakela piece is our artisan, Louisa Choi. Louisa was born in Copenhagen, Denmark, where the root of her inspiration is derived from as she has always loved the contemporary yet minimalist Scandinavian lifestyle. Through this love, timeless pieces were created to tell a story, the pieces are made to complement existing beauty and act as a reminder to nourish and appreciate inner beauty.

Louisa has been creating jewellery for over 5 years and has evolved into crafting alternative engagement rings and wedding bands, working with unconventional gemstones and settings. She enjoys working closely with clients to co-create a final piece adding meaning and value to each piece.

Inspired by the journey of life, collections are created to carry a story or a thought and once you peel back the layers, it reveals deeper meanings and revelations. Louisa is constantly exploring different topics that make up our experiences in our daily lives and through Aakela, these thoughts and topics are expressed in a physical form and also through her written work.
